Indonesia is one of the nations with the most mountains in the world since it is an archipelago situated on the ring of fire. Over the whole region of Indonesia, there are at least hundreds of mountains. A few of Indonesia's many mountains are popular climbing locations. The explanation is that climbing the mountains is the only way to enjoy their breathtaking views. Here are five of the most commonly known volcanoes located in Indonesia.
Mount Krakatau
The Indonesian volcano Krakatau is still active today. In the midst of the Sunda Strait, an island was destroyed by an eruption that happened in 1883. Three and a half thousand individuals perished as a result of Krakatoa. A tourist's ability to reach the summit of the Child of Krakatau has been discontinued after the eruption in 2011. A maximum of 200 meters may be reached by tourists on foot. Sebuku Island, Umang-umang Island, and Sebesi Island are other features of this nature reserve area that travelers may use as rest locations once they have finished walking Child of Krakatau.

Mount Semeru
Java Island's tallest and most stunning peak is Mount Semeru. There is much folklore around this peak. Peak climbers from many nations are drawn to this peak because of its beauty. One of the busiest mountains is also Mount Semeru. There is a 500 person daily climbing quota maximum. East Java, Indonesia is home to Mount Semeru, an active volcano. Mount Semeru shares the Ranu Kumbolo, an incredibly magnificent treasure, with Rinjani. Perched at 2,400 meters above sea level, this lake is naturally formed. A well-known Love Climb for climbers is located in front of Ranu Kumbolo. And lastly, there's the lavender-flowered Oro-oro Ombo.

Mount Merbabu
The Indonesian island of Java has the Merbabu Volcano to the north of Yogyakarta. This volcano is one of several on the well-known Ring of Fire, and its name means "Mountain of Ashes" in the local tongue. Soaring to the summit of its slopes and peaks, Mount Merbabu offers breathtaking views of savannas. Hiking routes abound on Mount Merbabu itself. The Selo trail in the Boyolali area is, nonetheless, renowned for having the most breathtaking views. Beautiful savannah vistas await you as you go through Selo. Due to edelweiss flowers growing on the slopes, the vista is even more breathtaking on the last stretch before the top.

Mount Merapi
Comprising one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes, Mount Merapi is situated in the middle region of Java Island. Standing 2,930 meters above sea level, Mount Merapi is a mountain. Merapi really already carries the meaning of a volcano because the word originates from the acronym "Meru," which means mountain and "fire." Popular Garuda Peak is located atop this mountain. Unfortunately, this well-known summit vanished as a result of the 2010 eruption of Merapi, since the peak was eroded during that eruption. In fact, for safety concerns, climbers are only permitted to ascend up to the Bubrah Market area. Above that, they are not permitted to descend.

Mount Ijen
Because of its extraordinarily high sulfur content, Indonesia's Ijen Volcano spews blue lava. This mountain is unique because of its early-morning blue fire outlook, which is quite breathtaking. At 2,443 meters above sea level, Mount Ijen's greatest height, it may be classified as a moderately high mountain. This mountain is in the middle of the East Javan regencies of Bondowoso, Situbondo, and Banyuwangi. On the other hand, Paltuding Village, Licin Subdistrict, Banyuwangi is where this mountain climbing post is situated.
