Unleashing the Beauty of Indonesia

What better way to explore Indonesia's beautiful destinations than to do it while breaking a sweat? Indonesia is home to some of the world's great outdoors and they can be enjoyed through running or cycling activities as some of these destinations have roads and trails built specifically to accommodate your active adventures. Check out these destinations ahead of your next run or cycling sessions!

Cycling - Nusa Lembongan (Bali)
The most incredible aspect of riding on this tiny island southeast of Bali is that you can travel the entire island from end to end in less than a day. The result is enthralling vistas of lush hills, breathtaking cliffs, immaculate beaches, and mangrove rainforest all on one route. Because there aren't many cars on the island and the main roads are generally well-built, it's also a good place for cyclists.

Running - Danau Toba (Sumatera)
The Lake Toba Trail, one of Indonesia's most picturesque routes, is ideal for a single or multi-day jog. Despite the fact that a marathon runner may undoubtedly benefit from the exercise, you will get the most out of this track if you frequently pause to take in the sights, including an actual old Batak town replete with an intact headsman's block.

Cycling - Puncak (West Java)
The Puncak region, which is an hour's drive from Bogor, a satellite city of Jakarta, is situated on the mountains and has little resemblance to the stern metropolis. Up till the point of the eye, all that is seen are tea gardens and more tea gardens. On the narrow roads that run between the tea plantations, you may ride a horse or go cycling. A few paths can also take you to the well-known Telaga Warna Lake, a naturally occurring lake with shifting colors that is tucked away in a beautiful forest.

Running - Gunung Kintamani (Bali)
Mt. Kintamani's steep slopes offer the ideal balance of difficulty and scenic splendor for those seeking a slightly milder volcanic route. Despite being accessible year-round, you should verify the volcano's activity before beginning your run because small eruptions have occurred as recently as 2009. You will also have to avoid the numerous local tour operators that actively promote slow-moving tours of the volcano while warning potential independent runners of hazards.

Cycling - Tebing Keraton (West Java)
Cycling through the pine forests to the Tebing Keraton in Bandung, West Java, gives you the chance to take in cold, crisp air and enjoy the entrancing sight of the lush forest that lines the route. The eventual goal is obviously simply a bonus, but it's a rather large one: a gorgeous cliff overlooking extensive pine forests adorning the adjacent hills below. But because there are several climbing and steep roads on the course, it's not a simple catch. However, it was well worth it for the panorama, the learning opportunity, and the success.
