Lake Habema, a popular tourist destination, is part of this world historic site. Compared to other Indonesian regions, the lake is cooler. Temperatures here can reach 10-15 degrees Celsius due to the location's elevation of 3,000 meters above sea level. The heat begins to burn the body as soon as the sun begins to rise. The lake's surroundings have a different kind of tropical forest vegetation. No vegetation can grow at this elevation. The marshes and watery regions, however, are covered in some yellow- and purplish-colored flora that is still unnamed. The mysterious yellow plant is thought to be an AIDS and anticancer medication. Unfortunately, no study has been conducted to explain this. The large Habema marsh, grasses, and old ferns surround the lake. The lovely birds of paradise (Macgregoria Pulchra) and tree kangaroos may still be caught in the deep forest (Dendrolagus spp). Visits to this national park will normally start to get popular in August, coinciding with the Baliem Valley Festival. The Baliem will present their unique dance and culture during this event. This region has been designated a world heritage site because of its perpetual snowfall, unique ecosystems, and intriguing geography.
